The declaration was made by the minister during the 6th Foundation Day celebration of the Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), where Sood presided as the Chief Guest.
“Delhi will celebrate National Youth Day with a Startup and Skill Youth Festival. All 11 universities and 19 ITIs of Delhi will jointly organise the festival. The aim is simple, to give young people a platform to showcase their ideas and innovations. The goal is to make Delhi the startup, innovation, and skill capital of India,” he added.
Calling it a “remarkable experiment” in itself, Sood applauded the establishment of DSEU as a platform for promoting innovative ideas such as startups, scaling, and recognition-based learning.
Addressing the gathering, he also revealed the launch of short-term skill-based programs for street food vendors and other professionals, in collaboration with new private educational partners.
